Clay-Cal Supplement for Parrots

Clay Cal Nutritional Clay Supplement for Parrots

HARI Clay-Cal is a readily available supplement that offers pet parrots the benefits of natural geophagy (which is the consumption of soil or clay for dietary benefit). Because seed diets are low in calcium, it is advisable to complement your pet bird's diet with a calcium supplement.

Specifically milled for pet birds, this calcium-rich supplement ensures normal development and can help maintain bones, the nervous system, muscle function, blood clotting and cardiac function.

The clay in HARI Clay-Cal also helps as a digestive aid, neutralizing the pH level, helping to bind toxins. Bentonite clay has extremely strong adsorption and absorption properties making it ideal for total body detoxification against toxins, bacteria and other impurities.

Furthermore, as an alkalizing agent, its elevated pH level can play a critical role in the body's ability to remain healthy and resist disease.

Key Features:

· Rich source of calcium
· Helps eliminate secondary toxins
· Creates healthy gut flora
· Inspired by natural clay licks
· For all pet birds
· Size: 575 g (1.27 lb)

Feeding Guide:

As a daily supplement: mix or sprinkle 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of Clay-Cal onto your bird's favorite greens, vegetables and/or fruits. Moist food helps ensure the absorption of the clay and increases the benefits of cationic activity, while at the same ensuring the likelihood that the supplement will be consumed. Alternatively, you can sprinkle or mix up to 2 teaspoons (10 ml) with extruded pellets or seeds.

For passerines - Finches & Canaries, or Budgies, an additional bowl can also be used for free feeding.**

Replenish the supplement at least 3 times per week. Replace when soiled.

As a detox: to provide a detoxifying regime for your bird we recommend the HARI Clay-Cal 21 day Clay Milk regime: With a plastic or non-metallic spoon, mix 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of HARI Clay-Cal with 125 mL (1/2 cup) of water. Let mixture settle overnight. The "mud" will sink to the bottom and a "milky" liquid know as "clay milk" will float to the top. The "clay milk" can be served to birds in a non-metallic drinking bowl for detoxification therapy. Change water daily. Repeat for 21 days. Save the "mud" (see advanced uses below)!

Advance uses for Clay-Cal: Mud poultice for wounds; The"mud" can be applied to bird's skin as a soothing and healing "bandage". Especially beneficial to toes and wing injuries that are typically difficult to bandage. As the "mud" dries, toxins are drawn away from the wound and promotes faster healing. Bonus, if the bird picks at the drying clay - it's okay too!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Clay-Cal is not a substitute for seeking medical attention. Should your bird develop symptoms of illness, consult your Avian Veterinarian. Bentonite clay can interfere with medications prescribed by your veterinarian. Please inquire with your veterinarian in the event of any such prescription.

**Clay-Cal is a soluble clay and not to be confused with traditional grit products that cause crop impaction.

Ingredients:

Bentonite (montmorillonite clay), calcium carbonate, charcoal.
