Help me name my new parrot

Published on May 24, 2010

NOTE - I already got the parrot and named him Truman. So I'm not really looking for any more name suggestions. I'd like to thank everyone for the ideas they provided and it helped make me sure this was the right name to go with and that I didn't overlook any.

Pictures of the baby parrot: http://trainedparrot.com

Please help me come up with a good name for it. Video transcript follows:

Hello youtube viewers. As some of you may know I'm in the process of getting a baby Cape Parrot. I want your help in naming it! It is now a DNA confirmed male Cape. I won't choose a name until I get the bird, but I'm accepting anyone's suggestions to add to my list.

Let me mention some critical criteria for name ideas:

-Shouldn't be a common human name
-Should be masculine or universal
-Must be reasonably short (2-6 letters, 4 being ideal)
-Must be easy to pronounce quickly (as I use the name as recall cue)
-Must not sound like or rhyme with Kili
-Must be interesting and original
-Should produce little or no results if searched on google/youtube
-Would be nice if it exemplifies the size and beauty of Cape Parrot

The way I got the name Kili was kind of by chance but it turned out to be a very convenient and suitable name. Since I intend to make many training videos and articles featuring the new parrot, I want to make sure that the name is very easy for viewers to remember and return to. So help me come up with a name that is just destined for fame.

As a bonus incentive, I'll send a parrot toy or some kind of gift certificate as a token to the person whose name suggestion I choose.

I don't know the right name but I think I'll know when I see it which is why I'm asking for your suggestions. Please reply with a video or leave your name suggestions in the comments. Thank you.
